There are wedding days I’ll never forget. Ever. When everything comes together and nothing will stop the love surrounding two people. This was one of those days. The week leading up the Lauren and Grants wedding day Lauren and I were in constant communication questioning if they should rent a tent for their ceremony spot on the deck of Camp Blodgett. The weather forecast was jumping around all over the place and at one point they had one arriving the day before to be set up. Then, very early the day before she texted me…that she was struggling getting the tent because it was suppose to beautiful now with a 3% chance of rain but there was going to be 20mph wind coming from the north west. What is your gut telling you to do? I asked her. She said “to cancel the tent”…and i said DO IT! trust me, it’ll be worth it. Well she did, and the building was blocking most of the wind and it was perfect. I can’t stress how thankful I am to have this career. So brides, here is a lesson. Go with your gut. To me, playing roulette with Michigan weather is hard… (remember Hans and Jaimie’s wedding) but to me, either way you’ll have one memorable day.
One of the favorite photos of the day is of all the grand parents and grand aunts/uncles right before the ceremony all lined up seated against a wall, I was told this was so they would stay out of trouble. true story.
I can’t wait to go back to Camp Blodgett next year, listening to the waves crash into the shore, dancing under the stars…that’s what dreams are made of. Here’s Lauren + Grant’s day. Also, shout out to my other side kick/second shooter this wedding season, Jeanne!
